Topic: The Sentient Enterprise: Analytics Innovation in the Enterprise

Synopsis: Large enterprises are drowning in data. They are hamstrung by silos and a slow requirements-driven process to develop analytics applications. How can enterprises survive, thrive and lead in a data-intensive world?  By making decisions at the speed of data. By achieving agility with scale.  By making data and analytic muscle more accessible to the diverse workforce that needs to use it. I present a vision for the evolution of enterprise decision making towards a North Star called The Sentient Enterprise – an enterprise that behaves like a living organism with an ability to listen to data, derive actionable insights from the data and make autonomous decisions at massive scale in real-time. The Sentient Enterprise requires the creation of five capability platforms – the Agile Data Platform, the Behavioral Data Platform. the Collaborative Ideation Platform, the Analytical Applications Platform, and the Autonomous Decisioning Platform.  I present a capability maturity model that outlines these five platforms and their essential features. The inspirational vision of the Sentient Enterprise and the actionable capability maturity model together offer a compelling roadmap to business leaders as they seek to develop a data and analytics-driven culture in their enterprises.
