Admission Requirements

The program commences in January every year. You can apply anytime from May onwards for the intake of the following year. The application deadline is September 30.

Having at least 10 years of full time work experience is a key benchmark for the Admission Committee to evaluate the candidates’ suitability for joining the program. The average working experience of our participants is 14 years while the average age is 37 years old. Prospective candidates who have 8 to 9 years’ experience are encouraged to send their resumes for a preliminary review before proceeding with the application.

Full time employment is a prerequisite for being admitted to the program. The program is designed in a way that participants are encouraged to apply what they have learnt in class at the workplace and then share their insights with fellow participants.

Company sponsorship is one of the key admission requirements. It can be in terms of finance and/or time away to study. There is no minimum amount of funding that must be paid by your company. However, having your company to sponsor you both financially and time away to study will give weight to your application.

Yes, a company support letter is still required in such case. It should be stated in the letter that the company understands the time commitment the applicant has to make and the company will support the time away from work for study.

There is no strict requirement on this. The letters can be from current or past supervisors, business partners, colleagues, etc.

Given the commitment level required for this program, it is essential for candidates to meet the Program Director and Academic Director face to face and also visit our facilities. Some candidates come to Hong Kong for the interviews from places as far as the United States and Europe. Your busy schedules would be taken into account and an interview time that can match your travel plans would be arranged.

The duration of the interview is about 45 minutes. No technical questions will be asked; and no particular preparation is needed. The interview panel will focus on your work experience, your motivation to pursue an EMBA, and your personal background, etc.

GMAT results are not required in normal situations. Prospective candidates who do not possess a bachelor’s degree should consult our admissions officer and submit their CVs for preliminary review. If the admissions committee advises that your application would be accepted, you will need to submit your GMAT results. There is no minimum score requirement for GMAT, the committee will consider the whole picture of applicants’ career and overall profile.

Applicants who are not native English speakers and did not obtain their academic degrees at institutions using English as the medium of instruction would need to submit TOEFL or IELTS results.

Minimum scores required in TOEFL are 80 and 550 for internet based and paper based respectively; while minimum scores required in IELTS are 6.0 for the overall result and 5.5 for all sub-scores.
